Delaware Monitors 11 for Ebola Symptoms. Scam Warning

Delaware Governor Jack Markell says there are 11 people who being monitored in the First State for Ebola symptoms.

He joined the state’s top health officials at the 3rd Annual Public Health Preparedness Symposium in Dover last night and said his administration has been preparing for the potential of any Ebola cases for months in order to keep the public safe.

So far, there have been no cases of Ebola in Delaware and the risk of transmission is low.

Warning: E-ZPass Scam in Maryland

BALTIMORE (AP) - Transportation officials in Maryland are warning the public about a scam involving E-ZPass.

The Maryland Transportation Authority on Wednesday warned that several phony emails are circulating requesting E-ZPass Maryland customers to pay their tolls debts online. Transportation officials say the emails are a scam, and that scammers are using the emails to try to obtain personal information. Transportation officials say the emails should be ignored or deleted.

Delmarva Power Warns Customers of Scam

Delmarva Power is warning its customers about a new scam.

Delaware State Troopers said that a man called two Delaware businesses claiming that the power would be turned off unless they paid a past due bill.

Officials said that victims were told to buy Greendot MoneyPak cards at a local store and to add the past due amount onto the card.

Later victims found out that the caller was not from Delmarva Power.

Company officials said that Delmarva Power always sends out a notice in the mail about late payments.
