The July 4th weekend turned out pretty well for Delmarva despite the close call with Hurricane Arthur.

In Ocean City officials delayed the festivities and fireworks until July 5th.

But Jessica Water with the resort told the Salisbury Daily Times that it was still a good weekend.

Susan Jones, executive director of the Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association, told the paper that most of the hotels were booked solid for the weekend with only a few rooms left by July 3rd.

And there were few reported disruptions.

Tropical Storm Arthur has become a hurricane and is threatening to take a glancing blow at the Carolina coast on Independence Day.

And here on Delmarva officials are bracing for wet weather but are optimistic.

In Ocean City officials are delaying the July 4th fireworks and festivities for Saturday.

Mayor Rick Meehan says the wet weather into Friday morning will not allow enough time to set up the fireworks display for tomorrow night.
Officials still expect near capacity crowds over the weekend with $50 being charged for all day Saturday at the Inlet Parking.
