It was an embarrassing tweet for Delaware Governor Jack Markell.

He posted it on his Twitter account yesterday promoting an education event.

But it was linked to a suggestive photo of an Estonian model.

The Wilmington News Journal reports either Markell or someone tweeting on his behalf sent out the post during an event at Warner Elementary school in Wilmington at around 10:30 a.m.

It was part of Markell’s announcement that would direct $5 million to low-performing schools.

17 minutes after the posting the photo was deleted.

DOVER, Del. (AP) - The state House has given final approval to legislation asserting that an unelected board dominated by political appointees, not Delaware's elected treasurer, has authority over the state's $2 billion cash investment portfolio.

The House voted unanimously for the bill Thursday, two weeks after its unanimous approval by the Senate. The legislation now goes to Democratic Gov. Jack Markell, whose administration pushed for the legislation.

Governor Jack Markell says he’ll sign the law that will make same-sex marriage legal in the state of Delaware.

Around 200 supporters of the legislation gathered to hear the Governor tell them that if it can happen in Delaware it will be this year.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the meeting was an effort to motivate students and others to make the First State the tenth in the nation to legalize same-sex marriage.

A same-sex marriage bill is expected to be filed this Thursday in the House of Representatives before legislators return next week.

The campaign is on for Governor Jack Markell.

The Delaware Democrat kicked off his campaign this weekend with eight stops as he toured the state.

At the Delaware City stop Markell spoke to many workers who were hired back when the refinery re-opened in 2011 after being shut down for a long time.

He told the crowd that his administration was focused on putting people back to work like getting the refinery reopened.

Markell made stops at other businesses in towns ranging from Bethany and Milford to  Dover and Wilmington.

Despite Fisker Automotive suspending work at its Newport-area factory in April Delaware taxpayers have shelled out $400-thousand to pay for the plant’s utility bills.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the Markell administration says it must make payments under the $9 million deal with the California based hybrid car maker.

The auto company says even though it has laid off dozens of workers and keeps only a small maintenance team the power is necessary to ensure the valuable equipment inside is in good shape.
