OC Food Pantry Finds New Home

Credit Shepherd's Crook Food Pantry

The Shepherd’s Crook Food Pantry has a new home in Ocean City.

The new facility will open on May 1st at an empty store front located at 205 Baltimore St.

It has been operating out of the Ocean City Health Center’s Annex.

The pantry was once operated out of the basement of the St. Paul’s By The Sea Episcopal Church which was damaged fire last November.

That was the blaze that took the life of Pastor David Dingwall and another man who entered the facility on fire.

Another person was injured.

Virginia Eastern Shore Food Pantry Gets Grant from Perdue

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - A mobile food pantry serving Virginia's Eastern Shore has received a $10,000 grant from the Arthur W. Perdue Foundation.

The gift to the Mobile Pantry Program run by the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore was announced Tuesday. Perdue Farms is also generating 20,000 pounds of products.

The combined contribution will enable the food bank to distribute nearly 40,000 meals to children, seniors and families in Northampton and Accomack counties.

Food Drive in Delaware

NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Officials in Delaware are holding a food drive to help replenish the pantry stocks at state service centers where residents can go to get food.


The food drive will start Friday and continue through Jan. 21. Residents are being asked to drop off non-perishable items at the state's 15 service centers as well as several blood banks around the state. The main Department of Health and Social Services center in New Castle will also be a collection site.
