World War I Monument in Sussex County

creative commons

Sussex County now has a monument to those who fought in World War I.

It’s taken 98 years after the end of the great conflict to erect the monument.

And it took three months of fundraising and coming up with $20-thousand.

The monument finally went up in Georgetown Circle on Veterans Day and lists 17 names of those who died in France.

Rowland Scott Commander of American Legion Post 8 told WBOC reports that he said he was awed by finally remember these men.
