RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Lawmakers plan to hold four regional public hearings on Gov. Terry McAuliffe's proposed biennial state budget.

The House Appropriations Committee and the Senate Finance Committee have scheduled two hearings on Jan. 7 at 10 a.m. at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg and at Wytheville Community College in Wytheville. Two other hearings will be held Jan. 7 at noon at Tidewater Community College in Chesapeake and at the General Assembly Building in Richmond.

The committees are asking speakers to limit comments to three minutes or less. Anyone who wants to speak at a hearing can register at the site no earlier than an hour prior to the hearing's start.
