Vice President Joins Return Day Ceremonies in DE

Joe biden, us.gov

Vice President Joe Biden showed up in Delaware for the traditional Return Day.

It’s a ceremonial burying of the political hatchet after an election.

Governor Jack Markell and Republican challenger Jeff Cragg rode together in a parade around Georgetown’s circle with Lt. Gov. Matt Denn and Republican Sher Valenzuela in tow.

Meanwhile, Senator Tom Carper walked with his Republican opponent Kevin Wade while Independent Alex Pires rode alone in a black convertible.

The Wilmington News Journal reports there were hints of the future with a Matt Denn 2016 sticker which alludes to a potential gubernatorial run.

There was also a hint of levity with another sticker reading Al Expires playing on the name of independent senatorial candidate Alex Pires.
