Van Hollen Picks Up More Endorsements in Senate Bid

KENSINGTON, Md. (AP) - Maryland Rep. Chris Van Hollen has been endorsed by Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner in his bid to succeed retiring Sen. Barbara Mikulski.

The endorsement was announced Thursday.

Van Hollen, a Democrat, also was endorsed by former Rep. Beverly Byron, as well as Democratic members of the Frederick County Council.

Van Hollen already has received endorsements from Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh.

He also has been endorsed by Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett and Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker.
