Terminix Pays $10 Million To Family Injured by Pesticide

creative commons

Terminix will be paying $10 million to a Delaware family who was sickened while on vacation in the Virgin Islands last year.

The U.S. Justice Department says the company has conceded that a pesticide was used at the St. John resort where the family was staying.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the pesticide is odorless and can severely injure the nervous and respiratory systems.

The paper says the particular pesticide has been banned by the Environmental Protection Agency for use in doors since the mid 1980’s.

The family of Steve Esmond, a middle school principal, suffered severe neurological damage.

The News Journal reports that there was no update in their condition
