There will be more oversight of complaints at the popular teen question and answer website Ask.fm in an effort to deal with harassment and bullying.

Under an agreement with the Maryland Attorney General’s office the website will hire an independent trust and safety officer and will review complaints within 24 hours.

In addition, the company will remove users who have had numerous complaints.

It will also eliminated current accounts and block future ones for those connected to users who have identified themselves as being under the age of 13.

The site was launched four years ago and boasts 180 million users worldwide, of which, 42 percent are under the age of 18.
