New Castle County and other parts of Delaware are recovering damage caused by severe thunderstorms and gusty winds that tore down trees and wires.

The winds reached up to 60 mph.

Two buildings at the Delaware River Industrial Park LLC near Wilmington were damaged last night.

In addition, the Wilmington News Journal reports there were a number of incidents in which local homes were struck by lightning.

The paper reports 8 units at the Mobile Home Village and Apartments on New Castle Avenue suffered damage.

Meanwhile, Delmarva Power said there were 18-hundred people who were without power in New Castle County.

Officials say there is no indication of tornados.
