Son and Wife of Courthouse Shooter Under Suspicion

BuzzFeedNews

DOVER, Del. (AP) - An affidavit to search of the home of a Texas man who killed his former daughter-in-law at a Delaware courthouse says the man's son and wife are also suspects in her death.

Thomas Matusiewicz  shot Christine Belford and her friend Monday at the New Castle County Courthouse after Belford appeared for a hearing in her lawsuit against the family. He then killed himself.

According to the affidavit, Matusiewicz, his wife and his son are "suspected of intentionally and knowingly participating in a murder." It describes video that shows Matusiewicz and his son hugging in the courthouse lobby.

After the son leaves, Matusiewicz waits for his victims, kills them and wounds two officers before shooting himself. Found on his body were two handwritten death certificates for Belford and her lawyer.

Assistance

Meanwhile, the New Castle County Courthouse is set to reopen today with counseling being offered to those who need to talk about Monday's fatal shooting.

The victims' assistance will be available on the second floor of the courthouse next to the Law Library.

At the time of the shooting there were employees and members of the public inside the building.
