Snowfall on Delmarva Again (Update)

The snow is coming down.And forecasters say we should expect 4 to 6 inches of accumulation with the heaviest in Accomack County.

The Maryland Lower Shore is expected to get up to 3 to 4 inches while Sussex County could see up to 3 inches.

There’s also a winter storm warning in effect until around 4 p.m. this afternoon.

Temperatures should remain in the upper 20’s with some north winds of 20 mph.

The Maryland State Highway Administration is warning travelers to be cautious especially with freezing condictions on bridges, overpasses and at intersections.  

The state has sent out extra Coordinated Highway Action Response teams to help with disabled vehicles and for traffic control.

Salisbury has nine trucks ready and equipped with plows and salt.

The plows will be on residential streets if snow accumulation get 4 inches or more.

Delaware

DOVER, Del. (AP) -- Delaware Department of Transportation officials say they have snow-removal crews deployed throughout the state to clear roads, but they say drivers should avoid travel if possible.

Transportation officials say crews are plowing snow and spreading salt in Kent and Sussex counties on Thursday. But snow has still accumulated as deep as 2 inches on some roads.

In New Castle County, transportation officials say roads are wet with some icy spots. Road crews are spreading salt in those areas.
