There was a blanket of snow on the ground as Delmarvans got up to greet President’s Day.

The area was expected to be hit with 2-t0-4 inches of snow.

There’s a snow emergency in place for Worcester and Somerset Counties.

All vehicles have to have either snow chains or snow tires.

There’s also a ban on all parking for the snow emergency routes.

A winter weather advisory is still in effect for Sussex County through 4 p.m. this afternoon.

The region expects the snow to turn to rain later on in the day.

Those filling up at a local Royal Farms in Salisbury said they were weathering the snow.

In Easton a snow emergency Phase II has been declared requiring the snow tires or snow chains.

There was even some snow in Bethany Beach while Dover got a dusting this morning.

Most of the area schools were closed for the holiday.

A number of colleges and universities were also closed because of the weather.

These included Salisbury University, Wor-Wico Community College, Eastern Shore Community College and Delaware Technical Community College.

But expect a warm front sometime Tuesday with a high in the 50’s.
