FORT MEADE, Md. (AP) - Federal investigators on Monday will be back at the scene of a small plane crash that injured two men.
The single-engine plane crashed on its top Sunday in woods a few hundred yards from Tipton Airport near Fort Meade, between Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
Maryland State Police say the plane crashed shortly after takeoff. Its destination was unclear.
The crash injured 82-year-old Thomas Cline of Silver Spring and 57-year-old Jeffry Barnett of Glen Burnie. They were flown to Baltimore's Shock Trauma Center after it took nearly an hour to free them from the wreckage. Cline was in critical condition on Monday, and Barnett in fair condition.
The FAA is investigating the cause of the crash.
FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the aircraft was a Grumman American AA-1.
