Senator Chris Coons Meets With Young African Leaders at WH

NEWARK, Del. (AP) - A group a young African leaders is meeting with U.S. Sen. Chris Coons in Delaware as part of a White House fellowship program.

The University of Delaware is hosting 25 young civic leaders from African countries as part of the Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, a six-week program on American campuses. 

Program participants were scheduled to meet with Coons on Thursday on the UD campus.

Coons, who spent part of his junior year of college in Kenya, is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on African Affairs.
