Salisbury University Partners In $250 Million European Education Defense Program

ADELPHI, Md. (AP) - The Department of Defense has awarded a $250 million contract to University of Maryland University College.

UMUC announced Monday that the contract calls for offering exclusive undergraduate and graduate instruction at military installations across Europe.

The contract, which is renewed annually, extends through the 2022-2023 academic year.

UMUC will offer its MBA program for the first time in the European Command. The university also will partner with two other institutions in the University System of Maryland for first-time overseas programs.

Salisbury University and UMUC will offer undergraduate and graduate programs in social work. Frostburg State University and UMUC will offer an undergraduate teacher education program.

UMUC has an enrollment of 93,000 students. It is one of the largest public providers of online higher education in the nation.
