Robin Pope Identified as Body Found on Kent Island Shoreline

Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office

STEVENSVILLE, Md. (AP) - A body found on the Kent Island shoreline has been identified as that of a Queen Anne's County woman who went missing earlier this month.

Robin L. Pope's body was found Saturday afternoon by a fisherman who alerted the police. The medical examiner's office in Baltimore confirmed the identification during an autopsy Sunday.

The cause and manner of death still aren't known.

The 51-year-old Stevensville woman was last seen on the night of March 1, when she stopped by the home she once shared with her husband to gather some belongings.

Her estranged husband has said he left when she arrived, and that when he returned home, her car was in the driveway but she was missing,

The couple's dog was found dead near a pier outside a neighboring home.
