A fight has broken out in Dewey Beach.

A former town commissioner Rich Hanewinckel is suing the town manager and the mayor claiming his criticism of them has resulted in malicious actions against his rental property business.

The lawsuit charges that the town officials have held up licenses needed for his vacation rentals and have been impugning his character.

Mayor Diane Hanson once his ally told the Wilmington News Journal that he was just trying to disrupt this Saturday’s city elections.

The lawsuit was filed on September 1st.
