Punkin Chunkin Could Come to Maryland Eastern Shore

Punkin Chunkin Association website

The 2016 Punkin Chunkin is on.

And there is a possibility that Worcester or Dorchester Counties could witness the pumpkins flying through the air this year.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Frank Payton, president of the World Championship Punkin Chunkin Association, confirmed it was looking at locations in Maryland as well as Sussex County.

The Worcester County Tourism director Lisa Challenger told the newspaper that there are three locations at the northern end of the county.

All the insurance and liability issues have been taken care of.

And, Payton said that a decision is expected by the end of March.
