Princess Anne Commissioner Arrested on Extortion Charges

Maryland State Police

Princess Anne Commissioner Lionel Frederick has been charged with extortion in an effort to squelch a challenge to a sitting Somerset County Commissioner.

WBOC reports that police say 25 year-old Frederick contacted the commissioner and told him that if he was paid $5-thousand he would keep this person from running for office.

Police say that they carried out surveillance of the meeting at Frederick’s home where he received $25-hundred.

The television station reports at that moment troopers closed in and arrested Frederick.
