Possible Wrongful Death Suit in Turnbull Police Shooting

The family of 32-year old Erik Turnbull who was shot and killed by New Castle County police earlier this month say they plan to file a wrongful death claim in federal court.

The Rev. Derrick Johnson along with the family stood outside the federal building in Wilmington this morning and said there are questions the community wants answered.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the family also said there were some discrepancies in what police told them and what police told the media.

Turnbull was shot May 10 by police after allegedly ramming officers who tried to arrest him.

County police have said Turnbull was the focus of an undercover drug sting and a fugitive from Florida.
