NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) - A new poll shows Hillary Clinton with a commanding lead over Donald Trump in Virginia.

The survey released Sunday by Christopher Newport University has Clinton leading Trump by 15 percentage points in a state that once reliably voted Republican in presidential elections.

The poll of 809 likely Virginia voters was conducted last week, after the release of a video in which Trump can be heard using sexually predatory language.

Quentin Kidd, director of the Wason Center for Public Policy at Christopher Newport, says the release of the tape and Trump's subsequent debate performance have "fundamentally made Virginia impossible for him to win."

Clinton had the support of 44 percent of likely voters in the survey, compared to 29 percent for Trump.
