MILLSBORO, Del. (AP) - The Delaware State Police says it's investigating after a driver fled from a trooper near Millsboro and hit another car.

State Police said in a news release that on Sunday afternoon a trooper saw the driver of a 1995 Oldsmobile fail to stop at a stop sign at John J. Williams Highway and Layton Davis Road. State Police say the trooper tried stopping the car, but the driver fled and collided with a 2012 Mazda.

State Police identified the Oldsmobile's driver as 32-year-old Keiyanda Hopkins of Millsboro. Hopkins and the Mazda's driver were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Hopkins faces charges including vehicular assault and driving under the influence of drugs. Hopkins' mother, Stephanie Hopkins, said in a telephone interview that she had no information about the accident.
