Police Car Chase in Salisbury

fotosearch.com

In Salisbury a car sped away from a traffic stop when officers approached the vehicle.

Officers pursued the Mazda, which eventually struck a utility pole in front of Skipjack Seafood on Old Ocean City Road last night at around 10:45 p.m.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the pole snapped in several pieces with the car taking a large portion of the pole for around 100 feet.

It then overturned and struck several cars in the parking lot of an auto repair shop near Civic Avenue.

The Daily Times says that the driver got out of the car and police caught up with him a short distance away from the vehicle.

He was taken to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
