More than three thousand people  took the plunge into the cold Atlantic Ocean water on Sunday in Rehoboth Beach.

And they raised $780-thousand for the Special Olympics Delaware as part of the Lewes Polar Bear Plunge.

3,325 people jumped into 37 degree water, according to organizers.

The money will help 37-hundred children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

The Special Olympics Delaware will provide sports training, athletic competition and especially an opportunity to socialize.
