Outpouring of Sympathy for the Loss of Pastor David Chew

The Virginia Eastern Shore Community expressed its sorrow for the death of Pastor David Chew this week.

He was responding to an emergency call when the Bloxom Volunteer Fire Company Engine in which he was a passenger ran off the road and crashed into a tree.

His engine was responding to a car accident.

Virginia Police say that Chew was thrown from the fire truck and died on impact.

Messages of sympathy have been flooding into his Facebook page and a funeral home memorial website recalling Chews’ life and work.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that The Reverend Tammy Estep with the United Methodist Church said that Chew was always there for people in troubled times whether on an ambulance or on a fire call.

Chew is survived by his wife Becky and his 3 year old son.
