Ocean City Awaits Answer From City Manager Candidate as Deadline Looms

Ocean City could hear from the leading candidate to become the resort’s next city manager.

He was given until 5:30 pm this afternoon.

On a 4-to-3 vote the Town Council okayed negotiations for the position after the ouster of Dennis Dare nine months ago.

Council President Jim Hall said that if the answer is no then a consulting firm will be allowed to resume a nationwide search for a new candidate.

The name of the candidate under consideration has not been made public.

But the Salisbury Daily Times reports that a local paper says it is Fort Pierce, Florida, City Manager David Recor.

That news has not gone down well with Fort Pierce city Commissioners who plan to discuss Recor’s future in the town…and will likely vote on whether he will stay on.
