The Ocean City Beach Patrol will be holding its final physical skills evaluation for anyone interested in trying out to be a lifeguard for this summer.
The test is June 8th with registration beginning at 10 am at the Dorchester Street and Boardwalk location.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that candidate will have to swim 400 meters and perform simulated rescues in the ocean.
In addition, those trying out will have to run 300 meters and participate in timed sprints on the beach.
Those who qualify will spend 8 days training in the Surf Rescue Academy which will begin June 16th.
The first year rescue technicians get paid $13.25 an hour while those in training receive $12.99 per hour.
