No Millsboro Poultry Plant, Despite Legal Defeat by Residents

Allen Harim website

Residents who challenged the legality of putting a chicken processing plant in Millsboro may have lost the legal battle but they have won the war.

The Delaware State Supreme Court turned back a lawsuit challenging Allen Harim’s plans for the poultry operation upholding a lower court decision.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that despite the win the company announced late last year that it had decided to sell or lease the property instead of building the chicken processing plant.

The plant saw two civil lawsuits that have been ruled to be without merit.

Meanwhile, the News Journal reports that Allen Harim says it will expand the chicken processing operations in Harbeson which is about 10 miles north of Millsboro.
