No Fireworks Tonight for Dover Days Event

creative commons

There will be no fireworks for Dover Days tonight.

The event has been cancelled because of the rain expected to continue into this evening.

Friday’s activities had been set to begin at Legislative Hall with the fireworks to go off at 9:30 p.m.

Saturday’s Annual Dover Days Parade is still on and will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Wendie Vestfall, the executive director for the Kent County Tourism, told WBOC that it was unfortunate that the rain has hampered activities but that the first priority was to keep everyone safe.
