No Delaware National Guard Meeting This Weekend

There will be no monthly weekend training drill for the Delaware Army National Guard because of a budget shortfall.

The National Guard Bureau along with as many as a dozen states overspent their budgets by a total of more than $100 million.

Delaware did not overspend but it is returning the $450-thousand that it would have spent on this weekend’s training.

Other states are also returning funds at the request of the Guard Bureau.

The Delaware National Guard said that in addition to the loss of pay the cutback will also have an impact on unit training and career development.
