Snow Hill has a new police chief.
Former State Trooper Tom Davis was sworn in this week after the decision by former James Pichard to step down.
Mayor Charlie Dorman told the Salisbury Daily Times that Davis had some big shoes to fill but that he believed he was a good fit for the position.
Davis also got the strong backing of Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis who praised decision to hire him.
Meanwhile, Pichard who served only a year and a half, will be going to the State’s Attorney’s office in Snow Hill.
He handed in his resignation in October.
