Replacement of free street parking with parking meters has residents and owners at a condo on 146th Street in Ocean City up in arms.

Ron Deacon, head of the condo association, told the Salisbury Daily Times that his members feel they are being singled out.

The resort has plans to convert free parking in several locations with pay-only spots as a way to bring in an additional $130-thousand in the 2014 fiscal year.

These include Philadelphia Avenue between South First and North Division streets as well as on 49th, 131st and 146th streets.

The Public Works department has ordered the needed parking meters but the plan will not go into effect until the Town Council gives its final okay to the budget.
