Dana Whitehead, whose career has spanned three decades in public radio, is coming to Delmarva Public Radio as the station’s new manager beginning July 24th.
Whitehead’s experience includes WXXI in Rochester, New York which has a classical music format and WSCI in Charleston, South Carolina which featured both classical music and news/talk.
He spent 17 years of his career at KUT the public radio station at the University of Texas in Austin.
Whitehead praised Salisbury University for expressing confidence in the radio station with an enormous investment at a time when many colleges are divesting themselves of their public radio stations.
He called Delmarva a unique area and expects DPR to meet the needs of the community successfully.
