Local state officials took in complaints about the educational system at a community meeting of the NAACP in Salisbury yesterday.
On hand were Delegates Carl Anderton (R) and Sheree Sample-Hughes (D).
WBOC reports that Anderton emphasized the need for greater access to the internet to get children more engaged in the classroom.
Meanwhile, Sample-Hughes told the audience that she has been fighting for things like better facilities at West Salisbury Elementary School and combatting bullying.
Local activist Amber Green told the leaders that much of the problem layout outside the classroom with such issues as dropout rates and the pipeline to prisons for minorities.
