Maryland Measure to Crack Down on Bomb Threats to Public Schools

facebook

With the recent bomb threats in the region, Delegate Mary Beth Carozza has offered up a measure that would make it easier to prosecute offenders.

The bill would allow law enforcement to charge someone who makes a bomb threat to be prosecuted in the county, in which it occurs – even if the person lives in another state.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Worcester County State’s Attorney Beau Oglesby and the Worcester County Sheriff’s office.

The paper also reports that the Lower Shore Republican has also been in touch with law enforcement officials in Wicomico County.

She noted there have been a number of false threats against local schools in the last several day.

Just yesterday Stephen Decatur High School saw another threat as well as three schools in Delaware.
