Man Dies in his Car After Being Shot in Delmar

In Delmar a man died in his car after being shot several times…near an apartment complex on Chestnut Street yesterday.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that residents say the incident was just waiting to happen.

Delmar shopkeeper Jackie Duffield told the paper that he has watched for years…as teens and adults loitered in the parking lot or a green space that is located in a cluster of rental buildings.

He said loiterers talk on cell phones and then quickly scatter when strangers come around.

The case has been transferred to the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation and the Maryland State Police.

Investigators combed the property and questioned resident of the nearby Chestnut Manor Apartments, who were the only ones allowed to pass through the police tape surrounding the building.
