Last Minute Preparations for Firefly Music Festival

firefly music festival website

Dover is bracing for more than 60-thousand visitors who are expected to attend this weekend’s Firefly Music Festival.

Festival workers were out this week building stages and finish other construction projects.

There have been meetings between law enforcement, paramedics and officials from the Dover Downs Speedway as well as the state Department of Transportation.

Last year DelDOT closed Leipsic and Persimmon Tree roads near Dover Downs from 10 am Friday and through Sunday when the festival ended.

Once Firefly campers set up their tents they tend to stay in the festival area for the three days.

The festival is being held at Dover International Speedway.

The lineup for the festival includes the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Vampire Weekend and Foster the People.
