CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - The University of Virginia's Miller Center will host Charlottesville resident Khizr Khan for a public conversation.
Media outlets report the event will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 in Old Cabell Hall.
Khan, whose son U.S. Army Captain Humayun Khan was killed in 2004 while in the line of duty in Iraq, is best known for remarks he made at the Democratic National Convention.
The Khans moved to Charlottesville after the death of their son and have been very involved with the ROTC program at UVa.
Mr. Khan will discuss his experiences and share his perspective with the host of the Miller Center's American Forum television program, Douglas Blackmon. He will also take questions from the audience.
The event is free and open to the public.
