Indian River School District Uses Website To Fight Bullying

The Indian River School District is reaching out on their website...to those who may have been subjected to bullying.

At http://www.irsd.net/,  a bullying prevention form where an incident can be reported without a name attached.

The district is asking for as much information as possible and users will have to Name the school where the incident allegedly occurred.

Preston Lewis, administrator of student services, told the Wilmington News Journal that the district will then send it to assistant principals at the school.

He said that this one way to raise a red flag about bullying.

The paper says that just under 700 incidents of bullying were reported to the Delaware Department of Education in 2010-to-2011.

That’s an increase from previous years.
