Inauguration Day for Jack Markell

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Gov. Jack Markell is ready to begin his second term in office.

The Democratic governor will formally takes his oath of office in an inauguration ceremony in Dover on Tuesday.

Organizers on Monday moved the ceremony from the legislative mall in Dover to Central Middle School because of the threat of rain.

Markell and Lt. Gov. Matt Denn will both take their oaths of office.

The ceremony will feature bands from Newark High School and the Delaware National Guard, and solo performances by singers from the University of Delaware and Cab Calloway School of the Arts in Wilmington.

A sold-out inaugural ball will be held Tuesday night at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington.

Markell did not hold an inaugural ball after winning his first term in office.
