Hogan Names David Brinkley Budget Secretary

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Gov.-elect Larry Hogan has picked former state Sen. David Brinkley to be his budget secretary.

Hogan, a Republican, made the announcement at a news conference in Annapolis on Thursday.

Hogan also named Sam Maholtra to be secretary of the Maryland Department of Human Resources.

The selections were two of more than a dozen administration jobs Hogan announced.

Hogan also named Clay Stamp to be director of the Maryland Emergency Management Agency.

Hogan takes office on Wednesday. He has scheduled a news conference to talk about his budget plan a day after his inauguration. Maryland is facing a projected $750 million budget hole for the next fiscal year.
