HOCKESSIN, Del. (AP) - New Castle County police say a man found dead in a car in a Hockessin nursing home parking lot had been shot in his upper torso.

Police were called to the parking lot of Genesis Healthcare Monday evening after someone reported an Audi sitting in the lot for an unusually long time. Officers found 27-year-old Shazim Uppal of Hockessin dead.

Police say Uppal was last seen driving an Audi with Delaware registration in the Pike Creek area Sunday between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Sunday.

Homicide detectives are investigating.

A local Mosque says that the Uppal family is one of the largest Muslim families in Delaware.

A prayer service will be held tonight following his burial.

Uppal had just wrapped up law school at Temple University.
