The National Weather Service is warning of dangerously hot temperatures this afternoon with a high of 89 and a heat index in the mid-90’s.
For New Castle County there’s an excessive heat warning in effect through 7 pm tonight.
There is also a chance of some thunderstorms by 4 pm this afternoon.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration suggestions range from drinking plenty of water and staying out of the sun to checking up on relatives and neighbors and remaining in an air conditioned room.
