Gov. Jack Markell At Discussion of Education and Global Competition

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Gov. Jack Markell is taking part in a panel discussion on the link between early childhood education and global economic competition.

Markell was to speak Tuesday in Washington, D.C. regarding a report released by the Center for American Progress and Center for the Next Generation focusing examining workforce investments by China and India and the effects on U.S. competitiveness.

The report looks at what China and India are doing to prepare their labor forces to work in high-skill and high-wage economic sectors. It also includes recommendations for the United States to respond with more vigorous policy decisions.
