Dover’s old library is up for sale with an appraisal of $1.6 million.
The city council members voted last week to seek a private real estate company to handle the deal.
WBOC reports that Mayor Robin Christiansen says there have been several offers in the past for the property.
The Mayor says that the building can be used as is and that it is in compliance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Council member David Anderson said that he wanted to make sure that community groups and nonprofits are also in the mix not just high priced firms.
