Firefly Music Festival Gets Underway in Dover

Firefly Facebook

Dover filled up with Firefly Music Festival fans this week as the event got underway on Thursday afternoon.

And it has drawn some big names.

Kendrick Lamar will perform on Sunday while and Eminem will take the stage on Saturday.

The Arctic Monkeys will perform on Friday night.

But the Wilmington News Journal reports that since the festival began six years ago there has only one female lead act out of the 26 perform.

They were Florence and the Machine.

Meanwhile, only two female acts are included in the around 100 acts over the next four days at the Woodlands near Dover International Speedway.
