Feldman Furniture Project Gets Okay From Historic District Commission in Salisbury

Developers have gotten the okay from the Historic District Commission for the Feldman Furniture building project in downtown Salisbury.

Palmer Gillis, one of the developers says, that his company is taking it slow making a $2 million commitment to buy the property and turn the structure into professional and potential retail space.

Gillis says his company is also considering including residential use.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the final decision on the building’s use will largely depend on the City Council to eliminate the fee charged to connect structure to the city’s water supply.

The building has been vacant since 2008 when it was condemned by the town.

The owners then failed to submit a rehabilitation plan…which led the city to order its demolition.
