A farmer’s market next the former Union Railroad Station is one step closer.

Mayor Jim Ireton says that city and finished with the curbs and sidewalks on Wilson and West Railroad streets.

The effort is a public/private partnership with the Knorr Brothers.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the landmark railroad station was built in 1914 and was in service for more than 40 years.

It was shut down in 1958 after passenger service was ended by the Pennsylvania Railroad.
